D-loop DNA sequences derived from 21 stomach tumor and 55 other tumor cell lines were analyzed to detect sequence variation at each site. X axis, nucleotide position of mtDNA as described in Fig. 1 legend. Solid rods, frequency of nucleotide variation found in stomach (red) and other tumor (green) cell lines. Several nucleotide positions of >30% frequency in stomach cell line are presented its nucleotide number at each position of the D-loop regions from np 16,000 to 16,569 (A) and from np 1 to 600 (B).
