A few small differences between UK and Poland
2
In these times, many young people go abroad for holidays or for longer period. Often the destination of such a trip is Great Britain. Some of us have already visited this country and maybe there is someone who plans to live there. Most of the times we treat a trip like an adventure and we don’t worry about minor differences that can stand in our way when we get there. Some of them may be quite a big surprise for us.

Left-hand traffic
4
When you are crossing the street, you only have to remember to look first to the right. However, it’s much worse when you want to drive a car yourself.

Buses

Buses in the UK are an interesting attraction and a way to explore
Buses in the UK are an interesting attraction and a way to explore. When we decide to ride, we should know a few rules. When we are standing at the bus stop, we must wave to the driver, and when we want to get off, we have to press the button, because every bus stop is a request stop. And when we get on the bus, we can only enter the driver's door to buy or show a ticket. In another way the driver can tell us to get off the bus and enter the appropriate door.

Weather
8
Temperatures range from 0 to 25 degrees
Temperatures range from 0 to 25 degrees. There is no heat, and winter isn’t too cold. It might seem that the weather is very stable. In England, the weather can change in 5 minutes. We can leave the house when the sun shines and a moment later it will start to rain, so even if you hope for a warm sunny day, it’s worth taking with you a sweatshirt or an umbrella.

Windows
10
Windows in England are opening to the outside, so washing them becomes a challenge. You have to use a ladder or order a cleaning crew.
11
Double taps
12
In most English bathrooms, we can find double taps: one with cold and the other with hot water. In the past, this solution made sense, because the hot water came from other source than cold water, but now it’s only a matter of habit.
13
Sockets and light switches
14
In the bathroom we won’t find any socket
In the bathroom we won’t find any socket. This is because of the risk of electrocute in contact with water. For the same reason, a normal light switch is replaced by a string hanging from the ceiling.
15
Numbers
16
This problem can happen to us, for example when we filling out documents. The English write the number 4 closed, the number 1 as a straight line and the number 7 without a line in the middle.
