1 How do systems in an organism maintain Homeostasis or Balance?

2 The Digestive System Breaks Carbohydrates into Glucose
HOMEOSTASIS: negative feedback When glucose levels low – EAT When glucose levels high – STOP EATING BLOOD from the VILLI carries these levels to the brain, so helps in HOMEOSTASIS Small intestine

3 The Respiratory System
HOMEOSTASIS: negative feedback Inhales in O2 Exhales CO2 These gases need to get to and from the cells. BLOOD in the capillaries around the ALVEOLI and cells exchange these gases so help HOMEOSTASIS

4 The Excretory System HOMEOSTASIS:negative feedback
Collects and eliminates nitrogen waste Brings back clean blood BLOOD drops off nitrogen waste and carries clean blood back to the body from the NEPHRON (kidney vacuum), so helps HOMEOSTASIS

5 The Circulatory System maintains Homeostasis for all systems
Blood carries high and low levels of glucose for the Digestive System. Blood carries oxygen and carbon dioxide for the Respiratory System Blood carries nitrogen-waste and clean blood for the Excretory System Blood from the circulatory system maintains HOMEOSTASIS for the rest of the body

6 So, HOW do these systems work together to maintain Homeostasis?

7 HOW do these systems work together to maintain Homeostasis?

8 HOW do these systems work together to maintain Homeostasis?
Circulation Digestion Excretion Respiration Life Is in The blood Blood Villi Nephron Alveoli
