Children Must Obey The Lord
“Put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the river and in Egypt.” Jos 24:14 Children can and must obey the Lord even while they are children – 2 Chr 34:3; 2 Tim 3:15 Other children are not the standard to follow “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.” – Eph 6:1

Children Must Obey Their Parents In The Lord
Children who do not obey and honor their parents are not serving the Lord. Obedience is offered without talking back and rolling eyes – Heb 5:7,8; Phil 2:8; Isa 50:5,6 Women must choose to serve God; not society’s standards; not themselves. Parents deserve obedience and honor – Josh 24:13

Children Can Help Their Family To Serve The Lord Together
“Children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward…” – Psalm 127 Children should encourage and participate in family bible studies, prayers, etc… Faithful children are a blessing but unruly children can destroy a home -

Children Must Serve The Lord Regardless Of What Others Are Doing
Children must serve God regardless of their parent’s actions. – Ezek 18:19,20 Siblings may stray but true brothers and sisters are in Christ – Matt 12:50

Conclusion “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” should be the words of children as well as their parents. So many important decisions in life will be made in youth. All of those decisions must be based on a determination for “me and my house” to serve the Lord.
