Vision

4. The faithfulness of God’s people.
People-A church is a community of gifted people, not just a community of people with a gifted pastor!

5. Called, Gifted and Committed People will chart the course for the local church.
The Called (Eph. 4:1,4; Eph. 1:18; Acts 26:16; II Tim. 1:9; II Peter 1:10-11; I Peter 1:9, 2:9-10; Rom. 8; II Thess. 1:11, 2:13-14; I Cor. 1:9; I Thess. 5:23-24)

6. The Called Leaders (Eph. 4:11-12)
Apostles/Prophets-for the foundation of the church (Eph. 2:20; I Cor. 3:11) Christ the cornerstone Evangelist/Pastor-Teacher for the continuation of the church.
Evangelist=obstetrician Pastor/Teacher=pediatrician

7. Equip the saints/believers for the work of the ministry
Equip the saints/believers for the work of the ministry. (The structure indicates a future aim and ultimate goal of current action)
Prepare God’s people for works of service as would a artist or craftsman.

8. Scout out their spiritual gifts, identify the area of ministry and empower God’s people to use their gifts for the glory of God and building up of the body.

9. To prepare was used in biblical context as one who would condition an athlete. Pastor is the spiritual conditioning coach.
The leaders call is to help God’s people fulfill their calling. (Paul’s heartbeat-Col. 1:28-29; Acts 20;13-38; II Tim. 2:1-2)
