3 Why SIAF? Its been a momentous journey for African soroptimists! The idea of an African Federation started way back in 1987 in Athens, Greece at a Congress Four Task Force Teams supported by SIE, SIGBI and SI teams have been behind the efforts to realize SIs 5th Federation. SIAF current membership stands at 1890, in 105 clubs as of July 15th 2019 Growth as a percentage is 0.057% (107) up from 1788 in April 2018 90 clubs have existed for more than 3 years in Africa

4 Major milestones to date;
SIAF Governance Instruments are in place; SIAF Constitution, SIAF Bylaws, SIAF Strategic Plan, SIAF Roles and Specification SIAF Leadership Election held every 2 years SIAF has Administrative Systems: SIAF is legally Registered in Lagos, Nigeria SIAF has a bank account with ECO bank, which enjoys the largest infrastructure in Africa SIAF Finance Policies are operational SIAF has a Standard Operating Procedure Manual-SOPM

6 Milestones…. SIAF Budget: SIAF Communication
systems are now advanced (Whatsapp Groups at various levels are a great tool for faster communication} SIAF Board meets online regularly (Zoom, Skype, etc) A robust website in place SIAF Bimonthly News Magazine – Voice of SIAF SIAF Budget: A detailed organizational budget is in place Regional Vice Presidents working closely with Country Ambassadors assist Finance Director in collection of dues. SIAF operations are mainly virtual which does not necessitate a physical office expenses at the beginning

8 Recruit, Nurture & Retain
Each Club is Expected Increase; based on existing clubs recruit a member by December 2019 = 105 Expected Membership by December 2019 is 1995 Plus Harvest from Extension of 300 giving 2295 12 Countries in Africa working on starting new clubs 20 Proposed Clubs are work in progress in the 12 Countries 300 new members expected to be added to existing numbers December 2019 Membership expected to be at 2295

9 The Future 5 Virtual clubs to have started by June 2020 in Regions
Recruit, Nurture & Retain to continue vigorously & earnestly 28 Un-entered Countries are a fertile hunting ground Regions to adopt at least two such at a time countries to establish clubs Currently SIFAF is Organizing the SIAF 5th Conference Abidjan April 2020
