B.A. in Human Development and Masters in Education from Azusa Pacific University Credentials: Multiple Subject (Elementary) , Foundational Science (Junior High) English Authorization I am married with 4 children ages I’ve seen a thing or two

3 Welcome Ms. Bertrand This year I have a Student teacher who is working with my first 3 classes. She is a student from Cal State Fullerton and is finishing up her last leg of her credential and has been with me since last January. She will stay till early December. She is a great teacher and your students really like her. Her first day of school was tonight. Im sorry you missed her

5 Goals for the school year
I want every student to succeed I want to see each student push themselves I aim to spark curiosity in your student so that they can become self-motivated, analytical, and independent thinkers!

6 AVIATOR EXPECTATIONS POLICIES ON DRESS CODE AND CELL PHONE USE ON CAMPUS ARE STRICTLY ENFORCED. Cells phones must be turned off once on campus. Most common reminders for Dress Code See through leggings or clothes may not be worn at school No rips above the knees and no ripped shorts No tube tops, halter tops. Tank tops must be 2 fingers wide No low cut tops or bare midriffs Shirts need to cover lower back and stomach

11 Homework Policy ~3 nights a week, ~30 minutes
Interactive notebook-Poly Plastic Cover Grade print out/ Late work policy. Marked down a grade everyday it’s late. If your student is absent, they may turn their work in the next day. Absent bin Tests can be made up if the student receives less than 80%. Max score on re-take is 80%

12 Discipline Policy Verbal warning
Maturity essay- must be signed by their parent and returned the following day Minor incident logs 3 logs will incur a detention Major incident logs-office referral Loss of science privileges (this could mean the student watches his/her lab group perform the next experiment) Serious violations will result in an office referral

Donations Our PTO has generously given the science a donation but our department is always in need of: Science specimens/organisms and supplies frogs, eyeballs, etc Copy paper Clorox wipes Kleenex Rubber gloves Zip lock bags Cash is always welcome

This course in Yearbook has two primary objectives: (1) To teach students the skills required to create the book and (2) to produce a book which reflects journalistic standards. To accomplish these objectives, the yearbook journalism students will devote their time to the following:  Learning their rights and responsibilities as student journalists Gaining proficiency in desktop publishing with Herff Jones eDesign Learning and using journalistic writing techniques Developing student leadership and decision-making skills And most importantly, producing a yearbook the staff, the school and the community can enjoy  Due Dates are strictly enforced!

18 Classwork/ Homework Policy
When projects are assigned, a due date will be given. Homework is not often but it is a part of their grade as most work will be done in class. Due dates are imperative. Grade print out/ Work in the class will focus on Communicating, collaborating, creativity, critical thinking Late work policy Marked down a grade everyday it’s late. If your student is absent, they may turn their work in the next day. Tests can be made up if the student receives less than 80%
