3. Catherine Gray/David Cain (job share) Buildings development officer/DAC secretary
Our job: Working with parishes on the long- term development and sustainability of buildings. Helping with fund-raising, faculties and strategy

Catherine: ‘it’s nice to help people not to be overwhelmed by their buildings, and to ensure mission and buildings go together’
David: ‘I love going out to parishes, meeting people and helping their projects to go forward.’

4. Martin Race, academies finance manager
My job: Accountant overseeing the finances and accounts of the academies run in Portsmouth and Winchester dioceses

Education finances are quite complex to deal with, so it’s quite demanding. But the fun is working alongside and supporting other people in the team’

5. Mary Daisy, safeguarding adviser – policy and training
My job: Working on the preventative side of safeguarding, including training for parishes, policy and procedure
‘I enjoy it because…
I’m passionate about the subject, but no one day is the same as things keep changing. I want parishes to feel this is an intrinsic part of how they operate,
not an extra burden.’

6. Greg Bakker, dean of pioneer ministry and pioneer development officer
My job: Supporting our network of clergy and lay pioneer ministers who work in the community, and helping them to develop their skills

Supporting pioneer ministry was the most important part of my previous job. Now I can devote more time to something I’m really passionate about!’
