1 THE REPRESENTATION EXPERIENCE

2 WHAT’S REPRESENTATION?
REPRESENTATION IS A TECHNO-POLITICAL ACTIVITY WHOSE PRATICAL AIM IS TO INVOLVE STUDENTS IN THE COLLEGE ORGANISATION. It concernes many different topics: Didactic Economical Political Other activities Socio-cultural Sportive

3 ABOUT REPRESENTATION …
It is chosen between different candidates belonging to different lists voted by the whole student community; It expresses the students’ will in the meeting of the Students Council.

4 REPRESENTATION AND STUDENTS COMMUNITY WILL (1)
The aims of the Representation are: - to satisfy the needs of the whole students community, not just that of the majority. - to bring the students position to the attention of the organs of university. The best solution for the community is not always linked to the majority interest…

5 REPRESENTATION AND STUDENTS COMMUNITY WILL (2)
representation is made by confrontation with the representatives of other categories (professors, assistant professors, lecturers, clerical staff, …) representatives act as intermediary between students and university staff and must reconcile the opposing requirements of the different categories; it may be an occasion to make practice on organisation activity (often it’s the starting occasion);

6 THE REPRESENTATION ORGANS

7 THE STUDENTS COUNCIL (1)
The members: 3 representatives of each Faculty; 1 representative of the Administration Council; 1 representative of the ERDISU Administration Council; 1 representative of the Univesity Students Associations. The Students Council votes its President and 4 representatives in the Senato Accademico among its members. Moreover it votes a representatives in the CO.RE.CO.

8 THE STUDENTS COUNCIL (2)
The Students Council gives opinions and recomandations on the topics to the Administration Council and the Senato Accademico. Opinions must be asked from the previews organs, but after that they may be failed to apply. The Students Council may cooperate with CUS (University Sporting Center) to organize athletics activities and competitions.

9 REPRESENTATION IN ECONOMICAL ISSUES
All the economical decisions are made by the Administration Council; students representatives vote every decision in every issues; the administration council is made up three representatives of every category; representatives are elected by the whole community; members continue in office for two years;

10 REPRESENTATION IN THE ACCADEMICAL ISSUES
students partecipate to the didattic decision through their members in the Senato Accademico; in Senato Accademico there are 4 representatives from the Students Council plus the President of the Students Council; In Senato Accademico representatives are elected indirectly by the students representatives in the Students Council; Students representatives can vote the most of the issues, but there are some topics reserved to the professors staff

11 CO.RE.CO. CO.RE.CO is particular politic organ; is made up:
the Presidente of the Region Council; the Chancelors of the 3 University of our region (Udine, Trieste and Sissa); 1 students representative for each University; The CO.RE.CO. developes the whole organisation of didactic and economic aspects of the cultural life of our Universities. It decides the distribution of economic resources, the establishment of new accademical courses, etc.

12 STUDENTS ASSOCIATIONS
Students may establish cultural Associations in order to organize different activities using money given by the University; in order to get money from the University the Students Associations must present a project with an economic plan for its realization; Students Associations may involve students from one or more Faculities. Consequentally their activities may concerne different matters.

13 THE MONEY DISTRIBUTION TO STUDENTS ASSOCIATIONS (1)
The money distribution to the Students Associations is made by the Comitato degli Studenti, which is made up: the President of the Students Council the 3 students representatives in the Administration Council 1 representative of the ERDISU Administration Council the Cort representative 2 professors representative

14 THE MONEY DISTRIBUTION TO STUDENTS ASSOCIATIONS (1)
The Comitato degli Studenti meets once a year; it analizes the money requests made by the Students Associations and makes decision about them; Students Associations must use the money before the end of the year of competence; if not, they must be given back to the University; every year Students Associations must present a receipts and payments account concerning all the activities made during the year.
