The ratio of the two elements (the parent and the daughter) are compared, and a date is determined based on that ratio

Dating a rock is NOT an easy thing to do if you are “married” to the idea of an old earth and/or evolution
So-called “evidences” for an old earth and for evolution can be easily explained by a young earth creationist model
