3 Need-To-Do’s 1. Register Athletes Online: 2. Pay Activity Fee ($40) - online through MyPayments Plus - Or at the Simle Office 3. Get a Physical – Cannot Practice Without It (Athletes need 9 Practices before Game Play)

Season Expectations Equipment/attire
Be on time for practice and game arrival/departure Athletes are expected to be at all practices and games 3 unexcused practices = removal from team Unexcused = detentions, hair cuts, birthday parties Excused = sick/gone from school for medical reasons Please communicate absences with your coach Equipment/attire Knee pads (Preferably Black) Black shorts (Spandex NOT Required) Non-marking, comfortable shoes (Avoid Running Shoes) No Jewelry (All piercings must be removed)

Respect and Responsibility
Eligibility Students must be in school for a *full day to participate in practices and games. Game eligibility is determined by a student’s performance in the classroom: Respect and Responsibility For a Complete Explanation, refer to Bismarck Public Schools Code of Conduct

Tryouts (Week 1) Coaches Look For: Teams
Athleticism & Current Skill Level Communication (Positive) Coachability – Response to Feedback Leadership Teams A1/A2 & B1/B2 C teams (As many as needed – No Cuts) 8-10 players per team

Pictures - Sept 4th @ 4:00 for all teams!
Tryout Week: Aug 19-23 Mon 19 & Tue 20: 8th Grade: 4:00-5:30pm 7th Grade: 5:30-7:00pm Wed 21- Fri 23: th Grade: 3:30-5:00pm 7th Grade: 5:00-6:30pm Teams will be posted by tryout number online Friday Evening or Saturday Morning Practice times will be listed on the website for the following week. Each individual coach will send home a practice and game schedule. Pictures - Sept 4:00 for all teams!

Transportation Travel Waivers
We will provide transportation to and from Dickinson and Minot (A & B Only) Athletes are responsible for finding their own transportation to games played in the Bismarck- Mandan area Travel Waivers Located under “Important Forms” section of the website Fill out and turn in to the coach if your Athlete will not be riding home on the bus

Uniform Care Please Take Proper Care of Your Uniform Wash in Cold Water Hang to Dry No Bleach or Fabric Softener No Iron or Dry Clean Avoid wadding into a ball when sweaty

Volleyball Officials & Line Judges
Bismarck Public Schools is in need of volleyball officials, particularly at the middle school level for the Fall 2019 season. Middle School Volleyball Games Pay $23/match If you are interested: contact the BPS Activities Office at Team Tasks: Athletes Will Be Scheduled to Assist with Line Judging Home Games
