2019 season - Courage Program objective:
creating men who are great sons, brothers, husbands and fathers. How? Simple - Teach virtues to provide courage Courage to us is having the heart and will to make a decision / choice without the promise of the outcome… in a nut shell – make decisions / choices to help be the best you - you can be. “Courage is not simply one of the virtues, but he form of every virtue at the testing point” Cs lewis

Practice policy Practice is everything No misses must be the norm
Any absence during spring / summer will require extra conditioning – (player safe) In-season (July 25th ) 1st – extra conditioning 2nd – extra conditioning & ½ game suspension 3rd – extra conditioning & 1 game suspension After 3rd – 1 year suspension **All practices are closed sessions to non-school personnel, non-coaches, and students not actively on the team. You can come watch but no one is to be on the field at any time during practice.

Injury procedure / protocol
Injury is possible Must report to our athletic trainer In the occurrence of an injury, the player should: Inform position coach Coach and player will inform trainer Trainer will make return to play decision – decision to see Dr

If a problem arises – follow 24 hour rule-
Chain of command If a problem arises – follow 24 hour rule- 1st - The player should : Talk with position coach Talk with the head coach 2nd – the parent should: Set up meeting with position coach Set up a meeting with the head coach 3rd –the head coach & parent should: set up meeting with the athletic director Set up a meeting with the principal

Earning a varsity letter
See handbook (on website) for complete list of ways to earn a varsity letter playing football. NOTE: When letter jackets are ordered, it is the player’s responsibility to confirm with Coach Conley if he qualifies for a letter. Wearing a Letter means you are part of the TEAM, It is an honor not to be taken lightly!

Expectations of coaching staff
Produce men of character – courageous men– committed men - Produce great students – emphasis on academics Be innovative – high expectations of players and ourselves – stay on top of game Be an example – we are not perfect – we will strive to be men of great character, courage, & committment – “you can not be a tour guide so a place you have never been” Be firm fair and consistent – we will coach em all! We will play the best one! Our families depend on that. Your son will be pushed, challenged, uncomfortable, often frustrated - But be assured, they will also be loved, treated fairly, & taught to fight through adversity with a vision in mind!

Expectations of the parents
Love em - love: sacrificial giving for the benefit of others. Love is not always rainbows & sunshine - your sons worth in life has nothing to do with his accomplishments on the field!!!!!!!!!!! love em when they do good - love em when they are struggling Team 1st mentality – love all of em Sportsmanship – be great before during and after all games Respect for others – cheer for us all – its about us – coaches included Service oriented –Sacrificial giving for the sake of others. Help us model that for the players- we need you to pour into the program like you want us to pour into your son. Just BE their parent!! Support, encourage, & and allow them to be coached & grow through their adversity

Player fees – why fees? & How are they used? Ways to meet requirements
School helps but can not totally support our program Examples of player fee usage: Cloth - $588 per player of cloth they keep –(fees and fundraiser) nutrition / Pre & post game meals - $10,000 (jan-nov 60+ players) Team Camp - $6000 – Lodging and food for 3 days for 60+ players Equipment Reconditioning - $8500

Sponsorships /fundraisers 30% of money raised will go directly to player fee Simple SELL something…….. presenting Sponsor - $5000 (all player participation fee credit) maroon Sponsor - $3,000 (all player participation fee credit) silver Sponsor - $1,500 ($450 player participation fee credit/owe $50) war eagle Sponsor - $1000 ($300 player participation fee credit/ owe $200) smaller customizable packages are available – See TDC member (30% credit to fee) Take advantages of limited opportunities – you can write a check or pay 1 time on-line Each one that does not carry weight – leaves a greater load for the group to pull

Player packs: cloth for the up coming season – players keep all cloth in pack Players pick what's included in pack Players will raise money to purchase their pack (ownership & responsibility No money…no goodies - tough love Chicken sales – 100% of all money raised goes directly to individual player for their pack (** may be other small fundraisers for players needing additional help reaching fee total )
