4 Thursday 7 February Observations, Inferences and Fingerprints
SLO: Describe types of forensic evidence and how/why it is collected. Observations – how observant are you? Observations Playing ‘Kim’s game’ – to improve observational skills by adding more items to a tray of items every time students remember more (uncover for 30s-1min, then re-cover) The difference between observations and inferences. Observations vs inferences Notes Slides 6-9 Forensics ppt Fingerprints – patterns, taking own fingerprints and identifying patterns. Homework: Read ‘A crime scenario’ p FS1, Q’s 1-4 Due date: Friday 8 February

5 Friday 8 February Fingerprinting

6 Friday 24 February Lip prints and mystery bags
SLO: Use equipment to collect evidence. Use observational skills to try and work out the objects in the mystery bags – team activity. Lip prints activity. Notes.

7 Athletics Day – no Science
Tuesday 28 February Athletics Day – no Science

8 Friday 3 March Mystery white powders
SLO: Use equipment to collect and analyse evidence – white powder. Reviewing last lesson – lip prints. Playing ‘Kim’s game’. Mystery white powder group activity/analysis. Homework: Continue learning keywords.
