At baseline, TSH from all patients had undetectable basal bioactivity (TSH B/I < 0.2), which normalized in only one patient after acute TSH-releasing hormone (TRH) administration but which normalized in all patients after chronic TRH administration. The area between the dashed lines represents the normal range of TSH B/I.
