Drafting group on CEA A final document on CEA will be presented to the WD directors by June 2006 (already on CIRCA) This document will contain 3 parts: A policy summary A state play of CEA in MS, PRB and for stakeholders A first analysis of key issues and existing methodologies

The organisation of the work
In 21 December 2005 due to the few data and examples coming from MS, PRB and stakeholders, a meeting on CEA has been held with presentations on the state of play Today 13 MS, 2 stakeholders and 5 PRB have sent their state of play on CEA The lessons on CEA Everybody interested and working on it No “integrated methodology” existing at this time (multicriteria and multiparameter) Partial testings and handbooks existing in some countries, a lot of ongoing activities in the month and years to come

The existing documents on CEA
The German handbook The Dutch Handbook The French Thesaurus + guidelines on key issues Some case studies: Odense in Denmark, Seine Normandie in France,… But no real integrated case study available today

The future of the CEA A lot of countries and PRB will be testing the CEA during 2006 and 2007: Denmark Norway Finland Sweden Uk France Spain Italy,…

The future of the CEA They will be a need to confront the results of the tested methodologies. These methodologies should be: Multisectorial Cover upstream/downstream Cover international river basin Prepare the discussion on disproportionate costs Improve the results during the 1st RBMP
