1 Tom Horn By: Kurt Walesch
“What a scared-looking lot of lawmen. What’s making them shiver? Is it cold this twentieth November 1903, or is it fright for what they are to see?”-Tom horn

2 Back round: (November 21, 1860 – November 20, 1903)
Death by hanging one day before his birthday He is recorded to have murdered 17 people During his childhood, the young Tom suffered physical abuse from his father, and his only companion as a child was a dog named Shedrick. The dog was tragically killed when the young Tom got into a fight with two boys, who proceeded to beat Tom and killed the dog with a shotgun.

3 Crimes accused of committing
Tom horn only was convicted of 17 murders

4 Most recent Crime Murder of willie Nickell

5 Evidence Some historians have since questioned whether Horn really killed the boy, pointing out that the jury convicted him solely on the basis of a drunken confession that Horn supposedly made to a detective. The jury also seems to have failed to give adequate weight to the testimony of a number of credible witnesses who claimed Horn could not possibly have committed the crime.

6 Sentence EXECUTION

7 Theory From his early childhood he was a very lonely child having a dog for his only friend. He was heavily abused by his parents. Therefore he was mentally scarred and drove him to insanity to commit all of these murders and finally leading him up to execution.
