The oxygen saturation as measured by pulse oximetry (Spo2) trends after Fontan. Note the trend toward higher Spo2 with time after Fontan in the control Fontan group. The post-Kawashima Fontan group initially have a lower Spo2 than expected for a standard Fontan, and most patients move up to a similar Spo2 level as in a standard Fontan by 4 to 5 years.
