As a parent of a child who receives Title I services in our school, we value your input always and especially on the following Title I services: School/ Parent Compact School Parent Plan, Parent Involvement Budget Parent Engagement Activities, Building Staff Capacity.

Section 1 What is Title I? Title I was enacted in 1965 under the Elementary and Secondary Act. It is the largest Federal Assistance Program for our nation’s schools. Title I provides federal funds through Georgia Department of Education to schools with at least 40% of the student population receiving free and reduced meals. Section 2 Section 3 Section 4 Section 5

Section 1 What is Title I? Title I is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and meet and exceed state standards. District Academic Goals
Title I Spring Review and Revision Meeting with Stakeholders District Academic Goals: · District Academic Goals Section 1 The Floyd County Board of Education set goals for the entire district. The overarching district goals for are: Grades K-8 Sixty-five percent of students will meet or exceed their growth goal on MAP ELA and Math assessments. The percentage of proficient and distinguished learners on EOG assessment, Georgia Milestones, will increase by 3% and beginning learners will decrease by 3%. Section 2 Section 3 Section 4 Section 5

Sixty-five percent of Pepperell students will meet or exceed their MAP growth goal in ELA and math. The percentage of proficient and distinguished learners will increase by 3% and the percentage of beginning learners will decrease by 3% as measured by the Georgia Milestones Assessment. Student Responsibilities
Title I Spring Review and Revision Meeting with Stakeholders Teacher/School Responsibilities Family Responsibilities Develop parent workshops to allow parent participation in the academic achievements for their child. Provide parents with packets for academic support at home 3 times a year at our “Moving Towards Graduation” conferences. Post supports and reviews for math and literacy on teacher websites and update regularly. Conduct DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) for at least 20 minutes weekly in each subject area to support increasing literacy. Provide summer reading lists and materials. Attend workshops and use the information gained to check on the progress of my student. Use the packets sent home during conferences to help my student master Math and Literacy. Visit teacher websites and use the resources posted to help my student study and check for understanding. Will read with or have my student read to me 20 minutes a week and check for understanding throughout the year. Check the parent portal for grade and assignment updates Student Responsibilities Share information with my parents about Google Classroom and other resources teacher provide and ask teachers questions when I do not understand something. Work on resources provided at home and attend tutoring if I still have questions. Visit teacher websites and use the resources and examples provided. Read 20 minutes nightly at home, including summer.

Title I Spring Review and Revision Meeting with Stakeholders NIT What opportunities does the school provide for parental involvement? 6th grade Transition Orientation – July 30, 2019 Learn helpful information to prepare for the school year. 7th Grade Open House – July 31, 2019 Meet your child’s teacher and our friendly and helpful school staff for the year. Annual Title I Meeting – August 27, 2019 We invite you to attend and opportunity of learning and sharing about our Title I program, including our parent and family engagement policy, the schoolwide plan, the school-parent compacts, and parents’ requirements. Invitations will be ed and posted in the school newsletter and website, social media. Reading Night –September 2019 We invite you to a night of parent reading involvement and tips to increase reading at home. Parent Involvement Day/Georgia Milestones Information Day – March 27, 2020 Learn about opportunities to become more involved in our school. Revision meeting –May 2020 Information about PMS Title I programs and opportunity for parents to provide input about our programs LSGT Meetings – Monthly A forum for parents and family members to participate in roundtable discussions with the principal and staff regarding the schoolwide plan, parent and family engagement policy, school-parent compacts, and the family engagement budget and other school related issues..

Building Staff Capacity Section 1 This requirement is to educate teachers, specialized instructional support personnel, principals, other school leaders, and school staff, in the value and utility of contributions of parents, and in how to reach out to, communicate with, and work with parents as equal partners, to implement and coordinate parent programs, and build ties between parents and the school.
