What is Title I? Title I is a federal program that provides funding for academic support and learning opportunities for students at schools with high percentages of socioeconomically disadvantaged children. The program is intended to help ensure that all students meet state academic standards.

Attachment 4 Title I Federal Funds Schools are allocated Title I funds on the basis of the percentage of students eligible for free/reduced lunch. Schools in Utah receive school-wide Title I support if forty percent (40%) or more of the student population is eligible for free or reduced lunch. Below 40%, Utah schools receive Title 1 targeted assistance. Entheos Academy receives Targeted Assistance Title 1 funds.

Federal Funds Continued:
Approximately one percent (1%) of a school’s total Title I budget is for parent involvement activities. Funds must supplement, not supplant, district funds.

Parent Rights Participate in meetings and trainings.
Review teacher qualifications. Review the school’s achievement data. Review the parent involvement plan. Review the Title I Parent Involvement Policy and Parent-School Compact.

Parent Involvement at our School
There are many ways that parents can be involved at Entheos Academy including: Attending school events such as Student Led Conferences and Celebrations of Learning. Signing up with one of our “Parent Crews”. As a charter school, we hope that our parents will donate 30 volunteer hours per family. Staying informed of your child’s progress through checking Mastery Connect on a regular basis and communicating with teachers. Helping your child be consistent and timely with attendance and homework completion.

Entheos Achievement Goal
Through Expedition centered reading, writing, and math, student achievement scores will improve in growth by 6%, by the end of the school year.

How Title 1 Money Supports this Goal
Entheos uses Title 1 money to help pay for paraprofessionals in the classrooms. Having Paraprofessionals means that students who need extra help, can receive more personalized instruction.

The compact consists of a list of parent and school commitments that will help to ensure that students have a posiibenefit the Some highlights from the compact are: Entheos commits to convening an annual Title 1 parent meeting. Entheos will be flexible in scheduling meetings to meet parent needs. Entheos will involve parents in an organized, ongoing and timely way, in planning reviewing and improving the school programs supported by Title 1. Entheos will provide timely information about its programs to parents, including curriculum, assessments, and proficiency levels of students.
