Serving beer

The preparation and use of beer has been known since ancient times
The preparation and use of beer has been known since ancient times. Beer has been boiled in many families at home - usually by women. It was the main drink for the whole family.

On the one hand it contains alcohol, on the other hand there are positive health benefits in moderate consumption. Beer is the most preferred drink in: Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands.

Beer (Italian bira, from Latin) Is a slightly alcoholic, naturally carbonated sparkling drink. It is produced by fermentation of must obtained from barley, hops, water and beer yeast. It is characterized by up to 6 vol% alcohol.

Classified by: the color - light, dark and Viennese;
durability – unstable, stabilized and luxury; the amount of dry substance in the must; the alcoholic strength - alcoholic and non-alcoholic; quality - usual, original, special and luxurious; the method of supply - bottled and on tap.

Served: in the menu (lunch, dinner) and self-catering (cold snacks, sausages, ham and other meat products, fish, crab, eggs, cheese, sandwiches, etc.) sandwiches, etc.).

Served chilled at ° C (best taste and aroma); in cups of 200,250, 300 and 400 cm3, in cylindrical form - without or with a handle - a mug type or pint:a halbe( German) - a large pint pot with a capacity of about 0,5 l) and a high with a stool(pitcher).

High quality beer forms, when pouring in the glasses, a good and stable foam – about 4 cm high for 3 minutes after pouring. Beer is served: in a bottle, in a box and on tap.

SERVING FROM A TRAY The waiter arranges the bottles on the tray, the glasses on the second row, and in the front right corner of the tray - cardboard pads; served on the right side of the guest; puts the cardboard pad (in place of the glass) and the glass; opens the bottle on the tray;

Pour in the glass to half its volume (the highly sparkling beer is poured from the lower, and the less sparkling - from the higher, if desired "without foam", the glass is slightly tilted and the beer is poured carefully); puts the bottle behind the cup on the second cardboard pad.

On hand, the waiter arranges the cups and pads in advance; brings by hand 1-2 bottles; opens the bottle and pours into the glass on the right of the guest; leave the bottle on a pad.

Serving in a box In a box the beer is served as the box is placed on a pad and the guest is self-serving - opens and fills in a glass. Higher-class establishments are not practiced.

Beer on tap is served by placing full cups on the tray, and in the corner - cardboard pads; on the right side of the guest is placed the pad (about 27 cm from the edge of the table), and on it the cup.
