Prioritization Prep Steps you can take with your board before coming to the Assembly to prioritize: Review all positions and proposals as a school board team. Discuss and decide on local priorities – what issues resonate with you and/or your board? Take note of your board’s rank order of positions so that you’re ready for Assembly. CARRIE

Prioritization Process
Following assembly voting: Delegates rank top 15 legislative positions Use GREEN “List of Proposals and Positions” as guide Two ways to prioritize (please pick one method): Electronic ballot – link will be available on the day-of assembly only – accessible via mobile devices and laptops Paper ballot (Yellow) – customized for each district, available on request Note: Each district may submit only one ELECTRONIC BALLOT OR YELLOW Priority Ballot on behalf of their board. LOGAN Delegate: school board representative w/ voting credential ALL 124 legislative positions are eligible to be ranked, use green “listing of proposals and positions” as a guide

2018 Legislative Assembly Results = Legislative Positions & Priorities 105 school districts represented 44 positions debated / 105 positions in total (See 2018 Handbook for details) Districts’ “top 15” priority rankings established WSSDA’s 2019 Legislative Priorities: Ensure student health and safety Promote student success Increase funding model equity Invest in public school facilities MARISSA

Next Steps for you & your board
Identify your board’s top position priorities – have back-up positions identified in case there are changes/eliminations Make sure you’re registered! Note: WSSDA’s room block at the Davenport Grand Hotel has closed. If you still wish to lodge, you’ll need to make your reservations directly through the hotel. Attend assembly ready to engage! CARRIE
