UCF College of Arts and Humanities

General Overview The reason for this new faculty orientation session is to be sure you have essential information that you’ll need specific to CAH. The administrative members of the CAH Dean’s Office have distinct areas of responsibility. For questions and assistance with any of these areas, contact the dean’s office.

Jeff Moore, Dean “CHARGE ON” is a challenge to do extraordinary things. Interim President Seymour’s top priorities for UCF are: Strengthening our operations Rebuilding trust Expanding our resources Investing in excellence How will CAH participate in that mission? Excellence in teaching and research Collaborative, interdisciplinary activities Look to the future UCF has installed a wall in the student union listing prestigious awards. I challenge you to increase the number of arts and humanities names on that wall, and offer you the support of our office to get you what you need to be successful. Each department has recently created a strategic plan; familiarize yourselves with your unit’s goals and row in the same direction. CAH leads the way in collaborative, interdisciplinary research and creative activity. The more we embrace this, the better chance you have of working with like-minded collaborators and succeeding in making progress toward your own goals. UCF is about innovation and progress. We were founded with a space grant. So look up to the skies and imagine the possibilities. Be a game changer. Be bold. What can you do to improve UCF, society, or even just one person’s day?
