Pre-questions to Activate Student’s Prior Knowledge Having Student’s Make Predictions, etc.

Teacher reads the text first; pointing to each word Students join in; in subsequent readings Reading continues (reading in pairs, by rows) When text/poem is familiar, have students take turns reading
