Issues Decline in enrolment and coverage of children. Delay in release of funds (8 months) from State to school level. Use of firewood as mode of cooking in 99% schools. State has not fully operationalized the Automated Monitoring System (<1% schools). Monthly data entry into MDM-MIS portal completed for only 72% schools. Issues: JRM 14th -21st December, 2017 Huge number of interruptions in serving of meals. False reporting of MDM served days and utilization of cooking cost and food grains. No funds received at school level for FY No payment of honorarium to CCH during FY Very poor inspection of schools by District and Block officials w.r.t. MDM Irregular supply of food grains in Lower Subansiri district. No payment made to FCI against the bills raised during FY Kitchen sheds are either damaged or not usable or kuccha in most of the schools. Prescribed Menu not followed; Only kichri is prepared as MDM. Cooked amount as per number of children is less and serving size is also less Ignorance of entitlements of the children by the cook. Innovations etc. It is proposed that the States and UTs may also be given flexibility to utilize, with prior approval of MHRD, 5% of their Annual Work Plan & Budget for new interventions provided they are not included under any of the Central or State Schemes and there is no overlapping of activities. This is subject to CCEA approval. Some of the suggested innovation may be in the field of Water filters, kitchen gardens, provision of LPG connections, use of millets etc. These are only illustrative and not exhaustive. Elements of Ayushman Bharat
Age appropriate learning for promotion of healthy behavior and prevention of various diseases Delivered through school teachers trained as Health Ambassadors in coordination with health department staff. School Health Promotion Activities Screening of children 30 identified health conditions for early detection, free treatment and management through dedicated RBSK mobile health teams Identification of malnourished and anemic children and appropriate referrals to PHCs and hospitals. The periodicity of such checkups may be increased. Health Screening Iron Folic Acid (IFA) tablets, Albendazole administration will be provided by teachers through WIFS and National Deworming Day (NDD) programme respectively.
