This project will install a new filtration system, piping, and electrical equipment to use groundwater for street cleaning and other purposes. Due to the heavy pedestrian traffic during the day, and to allow the Farmers Market to continue through construction, the work will take place at Night between the hours of 5:30PM and 2:30AM. When: July 29, 2019 to September 30, Weather and/or construction issues may impact the schedule. Who: Anvil Builders is the Contractor. Public Works will manage construction. In the event that noise levels are higher than the allowable dBA ABI will furnish and install acoustical barriers as necessary so that noise emanating from any equipment shall not exceed noise levels of the criteria specified in the San Francisco Noise Ordinance. At minimum ABI shall: In the event noise exceeds the noise criteria, ABI will exhaust all options to mitigate the work activities that are exceeding the allowable dBA levels and consult with City of San Francisco enforcement. Use acoustical treatments that will be most effective to mitigate the noise. Provide equipment and trucks used for project construction equipped with the best available noise control techniques to minimize construction noise impacts. Prior to construction, ensure that its equipment noise does not exceed the requirements of the San Francisco Noise Ordinance. Muffle and shield intakes and exhausts, shroud or shield impact tools, and use electric-powered rather than diesel-powered construction equipment, as feasible, so that noise will not exceed limits stated in the San Francisco Noise Ordinance. Enclose equipment such as large compressors, generators, and large de-watering pumps at a minimum in one-inch-thickness plywood sheds. Impact tools will be equipped with intake and exhaust mufflers. Pavement breakers and jackhammers will be equipped with acoustically attenuating shield or shrouds. Use designated haul routes that minimize intrusion to residential areas. Use construction processes and techniques that create the lowest noise levels. Monitor construction noise for the beginning stages of site work to insure that work activities noise levels to do not exceed the noise limits pursuant to the San Francisco Noise Ordinance.
