Week 1 Set: Due: Research Task:
Find out as much information about WW2 concentration camps and the Holocaust as you can. *Disclaimer – some of the information you find may be very upsetting for you and for others, so be careful with what you select.* You may want to include: The time period; Who was taken to a concentration camp; What happened to people in the camps; Where were the concentration camps located; Any other important information you can find… Challenge task: Research Anne Frank and make notes about her time in a concentration camp. Challenge Plus task: Imagine you have been sent to a concentration camp. Write a diary entry to reflect your feelings.

Week 2 Set: Due: Using your reading book (if you don’t have one – borrow one from the library – it’s a great place to borrow books for free and we have one in school…amazing, I know), use the next slide of technical language terms and identify examples in your book. Try to do as many as you can: 10 = 5 Vivos 20= 10 Vivos 30+= 15 Vivos Challenge task: Write a sentence using different examples of these technical terms. Challenge Plus task: Write about the effect that each language term has on the reader.

Week 3 Set: Due: Using the image as a stimulus, write a description about what it would be like inside a concentration camp. You could write about: The general conditions; What you could see, smell, hear, taste and touch. Challenge task: Try using a range of sentence starters and use paragraphs. Challenge Plus task: Use multiple adverbs at the start of your sentences.

Extension Task… Set: Due:
Create a revision game that will help students differentiate between language and structure techniques. Be as creative as you like… You could design a: Snakes and Ladders style game; Match up activity; Pairs; Snap style game; Connect 4 The really good ones will be turned into revision tools. Your teacher will reward 50 Vivos for the best ones!
