10 Subject-Based Banding (SBB) for NT
As SBB aims to better cater to the strengths of students in different subjects, students should be encouraged to continue working on their strengths even as they move on to upper secondary. SBB students are encouraged to continue with the corresponding higher level subjects at upper secondary to further deepen their content and skills mastery in those subjects as long as they have obtained at least a pass at the end of Sec 2.

11 The computation of ITE aggregate points for N(A) Grade and N(T) subject grades for merit-based admission is shown in the table below. N(A) Grade N(T) Grade ITE Aggregate Point 1,2 A 1 3 B 2 4 C 5 D U

14 Pathways available for Sec 4 N(A) students
S4 NA S5 NA ELMAB3 <=19**: The Direct-Entry-Scheme to Polytechnic Programme (DPP) Normal (Academic) Options ELMAB3 <=19: able to progress to Sec 5N(A) to take the GCE ‘O’ Level exam ELMAB3 <=12*: The Polytechnic Foundation Program (PFP) enter ITE to read Nitec courses, which allows progression to Higher Nitec or the polytechnics * Also obtained Grade 3 or better for all subjects used in the computation of ELMAB3. Certain PFP courses require an EL grade of 2. ** Also met course-specific entry requirements.

15 Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP)
A one-year programme that prepares top Secondary 4N(A) students for entry into relevant diploma courses at the polytechnics. It offers a practice-oriented curriculum taught by polytechnic lecturers. This is an alternative to the Sec 5 year.

16 Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP)
ELMAB3 ≤ 12 (excluding CCA bonus points) Obtained Grade 3 or better for all subjects used in the computation of ELMAB3 Some PFP courses may require EL to be ≤ 2

17 Direct-Entry-Scheme to Polytechnic Programme (DPP)
Students can enrol in a two-year Higher Nitec course at the ITE, which subsequently guarantees a place in a mapped polytechnic diploma course if they achieve the qualifying Grade Point Average (GPA) scores in the Higher Nitec course.

18 Direct-Entry-Scheme to Polytechnic Programme (DPP)
ELMAB3 ≤ 19 (excluding CCA bonus points), provided that: EL ≤ 4 and MA ≤ 4 for Applied Sciences, Engineering and Info-Communications Technology Higher Nitec courses EL ≤ 3 and MA ≤ 4 for Business & Services Higher Nitec courses

29 Scenario for Express Stream in 2020
3 classes with 7 to 8 subjects and one class with 6 subjects The 1st to 50th percentile in overall results will not be eligible to take the S6 option, ie, it won’t appear on the interface when you are selecting your options in October Priority for S6 will be given to students from the 51st to 100th percentile

30 Scenario for selecting 6 subjects
Based on results More time for 6 subjects, especially Core Subjects (English, Mathematics) Timetabled time will be increased for English and Mathematics (ie. still end at 2.30pm) All subjects will be counted for JC admission Not allowed to drop any subject

31 Scenario for selecting 6 subjects
If a student is taking MTLB:- - Not allowed to take S6 option, to opt for S8, S7A S7B or S7C - MOE guideline that a student must take 6 subjects (excluding MTLB) If student is aiming to attend JC, it is advisable to take 7 to 8 subjects
