Fall 2016/Spring 2017 Administrative Review Process Update

Administrative Review Description
President’s review of all Management Confidential Employees. A formative process to assist both the Administrator and the Supervisor to identify strengths and areas of development. Administrators are initially reviewed three years upon hire and thereafter, every five years. Enhancing leadership effectiveness across the institution. Administered using a survey.

Administrative Review Committee
7 divisional and 3 college senate representatives Administer a review process that is fair, objective, and timely. Maintain confidentiality of Committee discussions and feedback collected. Collect, compile, review, and analyze the survey findings for performance themes, and prepare an objective written summary of findings for the Supervisor, with a copy sent to the President. Evaluate the Administrative Review process to recommend future improvements.

Administrative Review Process Timeline
Fall 2016: Committee completed reviewer sampling methods, survey refinements, and survey administration strategies. Spring 2017: Administrator’s personal statement, self-evaluation, and reviewers submitted. Survey sent to reviewers. Survey findings analyzed. Periodic Review Reports completed and approved by committee representatives. Reports sent to the President and Supervisor. Committee Chair meets with the Supervisor to answer questions about the report. Supervisor meets with the Administrator under review to review the report and identify areas to focus on moving forward. Process is evaluated and recommendations for improvement are made.

Recommendations for Improvement
Increase process/workflow efficiency. Administer the surveys during the fall, rather than the spring. A survey will be sent to the Committee, Supervisors, and Administrators under review for further recommendations. Everyone reviewed by 2018/2019
