Decline of the Soviet Union
The Soviet Union had a Dictatorship, they didn’t elect their rulers & people didn’t enjoy this During the Cold War Era ( ) Soviet Union & USA built an equal amount of Nuclear Arms In communist ruled Soviet Union government industries discouraged workers from working efficiently Farmers had no reward to work hard on huge government lands & worked harder on their tiny plots

Government officials, army and secret police enjoyed a good life while average Russians struggled By 1980 the Soviet Union had a declining economy, poor working conditions and high alcoholism rate 1990:The Russian Leader/Reformer Gorbachev allowed non-Communist parties to organize 1989 mostly peaceful revolutions occurred in eastern Europe & in 1991 The Soviet Union Empire ends

Eastern Europe By 1990 Poland, Czechoslovakia, Romania, had revolutions & won their independence from Soviet Union 1990 East German Leaders surrendered to the pressure of thousands of people & open the border 1990 The Berlin Wall was torn down, families reunited & Germans voted to reunify their nation after 40 years By 1990 different ethnic groups in Yugoslavia wanted their independence and gained it in 1999 after much war

Europe and The USA 2016: there are a total of 19 European Nations that use a common currency or money aka the Euro ($) Sept.11, 2001 terrorists attack the USA killing 2,700 Americans & it led to the war on terrorism starting in Afghanistan 2001:USA entered war in Afghanistan, a training ground for terrorists & searched for 9/11 suspect Bin Laden 2003:USA invaded Iraq, the USA President & his advisors suspect Iraq has weapons of mass destruction
