Expectations 1. An appreciation of the basic requirements for national security. 2. Respect and understanding for constituted authority in a democratic society. 3. Patriotism and an understanding of personal obligations toward national security. 4. Habits of orderliness and precision. 5. A high degree of personal honor, self-reliance, and leadership. 6. Broad knowledge of the aerospace age and fundamental aerospace doctrine. 7. Basic military skills. 8. Knowledge of and appreciation for the traditions of the Air Force. 9. An interest in completing high school and pursuing higher educational goals or skills. 10. An understanding of the Air Force and military as a possible career path At San Pedro High students, teachers, and parents work together to make learning better!

Curriculum Map COURSE MISSION, GOALS, AND OBJECTIVES:
Mission: To build better citizens for America. Goals: To instill values of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment in high school students. Objectives: To educate and train high school cadets in citizenship, promote community service, instill responsibility, character, and self-discipline, and provide instruction in air and space fundamentals.

Curriculum Map JROTC is a 4-year program providing citizenship training and aerospace knowledge for high school students. Enrollment is open to all 9th – 12th grade students. There are four fields of study in JROTC including aerospace science, leadership education, physical training & drill. All materials and uniforms are issued free-of-charge. There ARE NO obligations of any sort for cadets who participate in Air Force JROTC. We do not recruit for the military and Air Force JROTC cadets DO NOT have any military obligation

Syllabus WAYS CADETS WILL BE EVALUATED: Grades will be determined on points earned in the following areas: Class participation, physical training, drill, and uniform wear. Semester grades will be determined on achieving 1,000 possible points as shown below: POSSIBLE POINTS ACHIEVEMENT AREA WEEKLY SEMESTER Class assignments & quizzes Physical Training Drill Uniform TOTAL POSSIBLE POINTS: POINTS = PERCENTAGE = GRADE 800 – – A 719 – – B 639 – – C 559 – – D – F

Attendance Policy & Class Partication
School policy: no more than 7 Days absent each year to participate in extra curricular activities. Class participation (effort) is a large part of student’s grade in Leadership

Business Academy Focus on careers in business operations, business administration, marketing and sales, financial planning, investing, banking, and real estate services. Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Tourism and Global Economy. Possible Electives: Accounting, Web Marketing, Consumer Economics, and Business Law

Pedro Action League SLC Theme Public Service
Focus on law, societal issues, world events, the role of the citizen, global studies, and national security. Explore careers in law enforcement and public services. SLC Motto: “ The more knowledge we possess, the more our community can progress.”

Pirate Health & Fitness
Focus on health, nutrition, managing and providing medical and therapy services, and health information. Explore careers in Sports medicine, Sports management, and athletic training. Careers in Health sciences, nursing, and physical therapy. Possible Electives: Anatomy and Physiology, Body Dynamics, Sports Therapy, Nutrition, First Aid and Emergency care, Physical therapy aide
