2. Candle Prayer Dear Lord Jesus, We light this candle to remind us
that you are the Light of the world.
As we come together now
to pray and to praise
may you remove all darkness
from our hearts and minds.
Amen

3. The Collect Merciful God, you know our strengths and our weaknesses:
when we get things wrong,
help us
and bring us back to you;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen

The Gospel – Luke 13:6-9
Peace be with you And also with you

6. The Gospel – Luke 13:6-9 Jesus told a parable:
“A man had a fig tree in his garden.
He came looking
for fruit on it,
but found nothing.

7. The Gospel – Luke 13:6-9 So he said to the gardener, ‘Hey!
For three years I have come
looking for fruit on this fig tree,
and still I find nothing.

8. The Gospel – Luke 13:6-9
‘Cut it down!
It’s a waste of space!’

9. The Gospel – Luke 13:6-9 But the gardener replied,
‘Leave it alone for a year.
I’ll dig round it
and put manure on it.
If it bears fruit – great.
If not, cut it down.’ ”

10. Then he said to the disciple:
“Here is your mother.”

11. The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever.

12. Our School Prayer
Father God, protect us, Keep us safe at school each day. Jesus Christ, be with us in our work and in our play. Holy Spirit, guide us, Keep our hope and vision high. Give us faith, fun and friendship As we learn, love and fly. Amen

We put out the candle, but our prayers keep shining. We will go in the light of Christ.
