Discretion Discreet “The quality of being discreet”
“Having or showing discernment or good judgment in conduct or esp. in speech; being prudent”

My son, if you receive my words, and treasure my commands within you…
then you will understand righteousness and justice, equity, and every good path. When wisdom enters your heart, and knowledge is pleasant to your soul, discretion will preserve you; understanding will keep you. Prov 2:1, 9-11

My son, let them not depart. from your eyes – keep sound
My son, let them not depart from your eyes – keep sound wisdom and discretion. So they will be life to your soul and grace to your neck. Then you will walk safely in your way, and your foot will not stumble. Prov 3:21-23

Judging from the way people behave and the news reports of them, it seems more & more display a lack of “good sense” (discretion). Society emphasizes “shallow” characteristics found in “empty-headed fools.”

Divine wisdom proclaims all the physical characteristics in the world are a waste if we don’t have “good sense.”

As a ring of gold in a swine’s snout, so is a lovely woman who lacks discretion.
Prov 11:22

Only then can we be considered mature.
Our “senses” must be trained and exercised if they are to be of any value. Only then can we be considered mature.

We are assembled together this morning to worship the One who is the source of all wisdom.
He calls us to a higher way of living than found in the world… a more “sensible” way.

Focusing on Him & His word, and thinking about all He has done for us will help us be the “sensible” people He desires. We truly appreciate your presence today. Join us now as we begin our worship.
