1. Conquering Prayerlessness

2. ➀ Confess your sin of prayerlessness!
1 Samuel 12:23 As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the LORD by failing to pray for you.

3. ➁ Humble yourself and confess the root sins of pride, unbelief, & idolatry!
1 Peter 5:5-6 5 “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” 6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.

5. ➂ Renounce discouragement & hopelessness, and let the Lord lift you up!
Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.
Psalm 40:1-3 1 I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry. 2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. 3 He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the LORD and put their trust in him.

7. ➃ Love people!
Romans 9:2-3 2 I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. 3 For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my people, those of my own race,
Romans 10:1 Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved.

9. ➄ Invite the Holy Spirit to enable you to pray!
Ephesians 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
Romans 8:26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.

10. Father God, forgive me for my sin of prayerlessness
Father God, forgive me for my sin of prayerlessness. I humble myself before you and confess my root sins of pride, unbelief, and idolatry. Today I receive your forgiveness in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

11. What is more, Lord, I reject my own sense of discouragement and hopelessness about prayer. I renounce any and all efforts of the enemy to hinder my prayer life in Jesus’ name. I am assured, Lord Jesus, that you will lift me up.

12. I also ask that you fill me with your love for others, so that I may pray with love for them. And I invite the Holy Spirit to enable me to pray. Father God, take control of my prayer life, and activate the full prayer life of the Lord Jesus Christ in and through me. Amen.

14. Let’s turn from prayerlessness to prayerfulness!
