IPCC 2018 Special Report on the impacts of global warming of 1.5deg C above pre industrial levels. GENEVA, Aug 29 – The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) notes that news articles have appeared citing a draft of the IPCC Special Report on the Ocean and Cryosphere in a Changing Climate (SROCC). The IPCC will consider the report from 20 to 23 September 2019 in Monaco, where it will examine the Summary for Policymakers of the report line by line. 6 Industry Challenges Offshore Renewal Energy
Market & Regulatory Site Acquisition Technology, Resource & Site Design Consenting & Monitoring Finance Grid Supply Chain Public Consultation Operations Markets & Regulatory – Resources cf RUK DEFRA & UK Sector Deal Site Acquisition – Planning interest secured (exclusivity), competition? Technology Fixed – increase in size – visual impacts/ Floating at commercial scale Consenting & Monitoring EIA, CIA IROPI, Noise Grid – Eirgrid tender on Grid Centralisation, Decentralisation or Hybrid. East Coast Study – South Coast study. Tomorrow Energy Scenarios (and the subsequent “System Needs Assessment” document) to be made available. While the reports published are generally very vague, the study inputs and outputs behind the publications are very informative, and access to this information would be the equivalent of the East Coast Study, but on an all island basis. Finance – RESS Auction Supply Chain IMIN Public Consultation – Community schemes, BANANA NIMBY, Eirwind deliverables
