The ceramic breeder materials development programme provides the material property database of this ceramic breeder material through various characterization processes. R&D activities in the development of high purity lithium ceramic (Li2TiO3) pebbles as the tritium breeder material is in progress at IPR. At every stage of preparation (powder, pellets and pebbles) are extensive characterized to meet the desired properties. Experimental facility has been setup for Packed bed thermal conductivity measurement using steady state axial heat transfer method & hot wire method. The preparation of Li2TiO3 and their different characterizations are discussed in detail in this paper
