Year 4 Multiplication Check
Last year the government brought in a multiplication check which will happen at the end of Year 4 (Around June time). The children will be tested on 25 multiplication questions from any times table up to 12x12. They get 6 seconds to answer each question. The more practise that the children have in these at home as well as the daily practise we do in school will help them to be fluent in their times tables. This is not a pass or fail assessment, it is just a check to see how well they know the multiplication facts before they move into upper KS2.

Curriculum This term our topic is World War 2!
We will be learning about different parts of the World War 2 including how it began, the Battle of Britain, rationing, evacuees and the victory! We will look at locating the different countries involved on a map. We will also being linking this to healthy food and nutrition as well as skeletons and bones. We will be looking at some artists of the time and also singing some wartime songs!

Reading Children will be reading in school daily. They will be expected to be reading the staged book provided by the school whilst they are in school as well as whilst they are at home. There will be guided reading sessions where children learn key skills. These skills can be used whenever they are reading! Children should enjoy sharing books with you at home and reading to you! Remember that any chance for you to question them about the texts or ask there opinions or predictions about a book will really help to deepen their understanding. Please remember to note any times that they read at home in their reading records (whether it is to you, to themselves, or to someone else).
