Routines Classrooms open at 8.50am for register at 9am.
During the first week, there will be choosing time every day. Focus on getting to know the children and building up a positive classroom. Lunchtime systems remain the same. Teacher contact – on the door and .

Teaching and Learning Similar structure to Year 1 for first half term.
Working towards learning as a whole class. Focus groups during each lesson – every child will be worked with by the Teacher and TA over a week. Children sit their SATs in May. Those who didn’t pass their Phonic Screening will retake in June.

Teaching and Learning Children will be read with once a week.
Books will be changed once a week (usually on the same day) Support may be offered through: A booster programme or group Pre teaching Post teaching ‘Resident Expert’ weekly In the new academic year there will be a workshop explaining more about year 2.

Finally… Our first topic will be ‘Promenades, Piers and Pioneers’. We will be going on a trip to Preston Manor in the Autumn term. Have a lovely summer! Any questions?
