1) Find the SLOPE of the line segment containing the 2 given points.
Here are the steps to follow when asked to write the equation of the perpendicular bisector: 1) Find the SLOPE of the line segment containing the 2 given points. 2) Make that slope PERPENDICULAR (change sign and flip fraction). 3) Find the MIDPOINT of the line segment that contains the 2 given points. 4) Now write the equation of the line in point slope form, using the slope from step 2 and the midpoint from step 3.
