Although the endings can change when adding a suffix, root words can stand alone as words.

5. Guided Practice with Root Words and Affixes
Add a prefix and suffix to your partner’s name. Then write a definition for the new word you created and a sentence to show how to use it.
Example 1:
dismarkous — not having the qualities of Mark
When my brother and I used to play with building blocks, he was dismarkous. I would stack the blocks five feet high, and he would knock them down with one blow.
Example 2:
presandraize — do what Sandra would do ahead of time
I love organizing parties with my friends. My friends love it too because I presandraize. So, when they come over, I have done everything, and they just sit back and relax.
