7. The republic of kangaroos is experiencing an apparently peaceful period of development. To the citizen’s ignorance, however, various social problems are fermenting deeper down. The first danger lies in the imbalance between genders. Kangaroo parents prefer female children as they turn out to be more effective plant gatherers, and this has caused an ever decreasing birth rate of baby boys.
The second danger lies in the implementation of grassland farming machinery, which has caused many working-class kangaroos to lose their jobs. The only way out seems to be securing a college education and take more intellectually-oriented jobs, which are less likely to be replaced by machines.
