Career Assessments Explore Careers with My ACT Hello! My name is Meghan and I am from the Iowa College Access Network. I am here today to talk about ACT Profile. How many of you have ever heard of ACT Profile? ACT Profile is a great tool to help see what future majors and careers fit your interests, values and abilities. We will be taking 3 inventory assessments today to see what majors and careers match you well based on your results.

2 What is MyACT? MyACT is a free resource to help you identify what potential majors and careers could be of interest to you. You will be taking an Inventories Assessment: Interest Inventory Abilities Inventory Values Inventory *There is NO right answer. Pick the answer that comes to your mind first! *Everyone needs to get out their computers so you can login to the ACT Profile website to begin taking your inventories. I think this is a good lesson to be doing with students. If you have any questions, please raise your hand and I can come around to help you.

12 If you hover over the blue or red dots you can click on them and learn more about the career that interests you. It will give you featured jobs underneath that category.

For example, management shows the featured occupations. For example, if you clicked on an Editor as an occupation it will take you to this screen that will give a snapshot of this career. It will give specific details such as salary, job outlook, training need, etc.

Pick your top THREE Career Areas that are of most interest to you. Example: Career Area: Education Potential Majors: Special Education, Elementary Education, etc. Starting Salary: $34,500 in Iowa
