Ideas to help you as you annotate the text could include, but not be limited to:
Use the close reading strategies to help you comprehend and think about the text.
You may:
Write notes in the margins
Draw quick sketches of important words
Highlight important ideas
Each week you will be given an Article a Week. You will be expected to read and annotate the text. The highlighted and annotated text will be due each Friday. We will have a Socratic seminar to discuss our point of view, inferences, theme, author’s purpose, etc.
You may also use the following thinking stems to write your response:

On Friday:
Be prepared to discuss the article and locate text evidence needed to answer comprehension questions.
