Noncoding RNA transcripts originating from heterochromatin repeats, or transgene insertions within heterochromatin, may be polyadenylated by Cid14. The transcript may be polyadenylated directly upon termination of transcription, or alternatively transcripts may be first sliced by Ago1 and then polyadenylated by Cid14.
