Issues i. No Separate MDM Directorate in State since ii. Lack of Dedicated management structure / manpower in the State for MDMs iii. Delay in the release of funds for 4 Months approximately from State to school. iv. Less Coverage against Enrolment (i.e. 65% in PY & 68% in UPY) State Govt. are yet to provide the detailed explanation for Non-Payment of Teachers out of pocket expenses amounting to Rs Lacs for running MDM during the Sessions between of Zone Nowshera District Rajouri. vi. Outstanding balance for Rs Lacs as on towards payment to FCI for cost of food grains for the FY and Rs Lacs for the previous year i.e vii. Construction are yet to be started for Units (amounting for Rs Lacs) of Kitchen cum stores (Sanctioned in ). viii Units (amounting for Rs Lacs) of Kitchen devices are yet to be procured (sanctioned in ). ix. Only 6% Schools having water Filteration facility. x. 11% Children still without Aadhar. xi. Less release of State share in Honorarium to Cook-cum-Helpers. xii. Online submission of AWP&B (Plan) by State) not yet done. No Community Participations / No IEC Activity conducted under MDMs, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India

Innovations etc. It is proposed that the States and UTs may also be given flexibility to utilize, with prior approval of MHRD, 5% of their Annual Work Plan & Budget for new interventions provided they are not included under any of the Central or State Schemes and there is no overlapping of activities. This is subject to CCEA approval. Some of the suggested innovation may be in the field of Water filters, kitchen gardens, provision of LPG connections, use of millets etc. These are only illustrative and not exhaustive. Age appropriate learning for promotion of healthy behavior and prevention of various diseases Delivered through school teachers trained as Health Ambassadors in coordination with health department staff. School Health Promotion Activities Screening of children 30 identified health conditions for early detection, free treatment and management through dedicated RBSK mobile health teams Identification of malnourished and anemic children and appropriate referrals to PHCs and hospitals. The periodicity of such checkups may be increased.
