Step 4 Solve the last part of the problem.
Sarah got 23 candy canes and she ate 5 of them. Her mom then gave her 8 more. How many candy canes does she have now? Use the answer from 23- 5=18 and add to get final candy canes: 18+8= 26 candy canes
