2 Transitional Health Care
What is TAMP? Transitional Assistance Management Program. What is the purpose of TAMP? Ensure TSM’s are aware of TRICARE like benefits available to them for 180 days.

3 Transitional Health Care is NOT automatic.
Sponsors must make sure that they and their family members are enrolled in DEERS. Sponsors can update DEERS information for themselves or their family members by contacting or visiting their local ID center.

4 What makes me eligible for Transitional Health Care?
Involuntarily separated from active duty with an SPD code that designates transitional benefits. Reservist separated from AD after serving more than 30 days boots on ground. Seperated from AD after being involuntarily retained in support of deployment.

5 Eligibility continued...
Separated after voluntary agreement to remain on AD for one year or less in support of deployment. A member who receives a sole survivor discharge. Seperated from AD and agree to become a member of the Reserve component the day following discharge. (If there is a gap the member will not qualify)

6 What happens to my Tricare after im discharged?
Sponsors and family members enrolled in Tricare Prime will be automatically disenrolled when the sponsor separates from AD. To continue Tricare Prime during the transitional health care period, sponsors must contact their local Tricare service center and re-enroll in Tricare Prime.

7 What about Dental coverage?
Dental care provided in MDF’s is on a space available basis. The VA provides one-time dental for vets who apply within 180 days after seperation. Members will not receive dental care if they were provided dental exam and treatment within 90 days of seperation.

8 What is the Health Insurance Marketplace?
Helps uninsured people find health coverage. If a vet is not enrolled in VA benefits or other veterans health coverage they can get coverage through the marketplace. Can also be used to find coverage for dependants.

9 Im retiring, what healthcare options do i have?
TRICARE Prime - annual enrollment fee, minimal/no co-pay. TRICARE Select - annual enrollment fee, higher co-pay. TRICARE for Life (65+) - no enrollment fees, required to pay medicare part B premiums, TRICARE is secondary payer.

10 Continued Healthcare Benefit Program
Premium based plan that can be purchased through TRICARE Provides temporary health coverage for months when you lose eligibility Provides a bridge between military health benefits and civilian healthcare plans. Same coverage as TRICARE Select
