Sponsorship Sponsor means that the company is willing to file work authorization for us in the future. If a company does not sponsor, it is highly unlikely for them to hire international students as either summer intern or full time.

CPT Eligibility Criteria
Have been lawfully enrolled on a full-time basis for one academic year (i.e. two full consecutive terms) Be in lawful F-1 status Have U-M approved health insurance Have a job offer Not be enrolled in an intensive English language training program

OPT Eligibility Criteria To be eligible for OPT, the student must:
Be in legal F-1 immigration status Be a full-time student for at least one academic year Have U-M approved health insurance

If you are applying for positions posting on Handshake, please read carefully. It is very likely that you will find the answer for the H-1B sponsorship question, but they are not correct sometimes. Please visit the company site and reach out to SAM Board/recruiter for sponsorship question.
