Kristin can show the couple examples in career and education area to give someone who may not be familiar with the GPS LifePlan program, a visual of some common resources.

Kristin continued: These are examples of the resources that GPS LifePlan links to. We try to stick with .edu, .gov, .org as much as possible. On occasion we use a .com if it fits the mission of our work.

Allows more ownership for the student Can password protect site and gain feedback Can be shaped & polished for use beyond college experience Randy: We use eFolio as the receptacle for students to maintain, organize, and reflect upon the activities that they do in the GPS LifePlan.

= Inquiry = Communication Group = Advisory Work Group = Customized Site Completed = Full Implementation Kristin: These indicate schools in our system that have started the implementation process for using the GPS LifePlan. 0 – No participation 1 – Contacted Coordinator with Inquiry or Expressed Interest 2 – Campus conversations have begun, designated person on campus to serve as point person; overview presentation from the Project Team Member, invited to GSP LifePlan Advisory Group Communication List 3 – Developing GPS LifePlan Implementation Plan, Active Participation in the Advisory Group, implementation training for Project Team Member (becomes active member on the MnSCU GPS LifePlan Advisory Work Group) 4 – Completed GPS LifePlan Implementation Plan; Website is built, campus activities are planned and may have begun 5 – Full-implementation: Integration across the campus including Student Affairs and Academic Affairs, Available and promoted to all students, EFolio is integrated into the program structure, Has integrated the project into the Institution’s Presidential Work Plan, Commitment to Continued Assessment and Improvement of the GPS LifePlan Program Implementation on Campus

Reasons for Secondary Version
Minnesota Carl Perkins requires alignment of secondary and post secondary institutions and the development of ONE plan that spans grades. Career Development is a vital part of each of these plans. Program of Study is REQUIRED of each of the consortiums. Randy: Hope to run test in May and provide training in summer/fall

Randy – emphasize variety of participants – public schools, community organizations, college partners, ISEEK, others.

Randy – Communication group for those who want to stay in the loop – people can contact us if they want to be added to either group.

Randy: We are looking at customization at a consortium level.
