Our History: Heartland Mutual began in June 1883 when Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Society of St. Clair County Illinois resolved to organize in accordance with Illinois law as a county insurance company. The new company became known as Belleville, St. Clair County Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Company and would write business only in St. Clair County. The company began with liabilities and assets of $2,661 and a risk in force of $421,392. Today the company has 63 counties in its writing territory, over $1.7 billion risk in force and assets in excess of $6 million.

Auto/Home discounts with GMRC 12% Dwelling & 10% PL premiums Auto/Home discounts for an in-house company 5% Dwelling premium Longevity discounts from 5-12% Claim Free discounts from 5-12% Home security discounts 4%, 6% or 12% NEWLY CONSTRUCTED HOME DISCOUNT: A 10% Dwelling Discount if your home is newly constructed and built within 2 years or less of the current year in a county or town that requires building codes and requires inspections. This discount will diminish by 2% each year until gone. 55 OR RETIRED DISCOUNT: A 2% Dwelling Discount if you are over the age of 55 or are retired. GREEN HOME DISCOUNT: A 2% Dwelling Discount if your home is certified “Green” by the Leadership Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). NEW WIRING DISCOUNT: A 1% Dwelling Discount if the entire home has been REWIRED by a licensed electrical contractor and has been inspected by a building code official. Must provide license number along with invoice to qualify. Cannot be combined with the Newly Constructed Home Discount. WATER DETECTION DISCOUNT: A 1% Dwelling Discount if you have a device installed to detect overflow of water from a source such as a washer, bathtub, shower, sing or around a sump pump. Homeowners: Level 3: HG-3 Standard 85% Level 4: Variable Replacement
Dwelling age should not exceed 75 years. Prior claims allowed but all damage must be repaired and could be subject to a claim surcharge. Limiting and exclusion of coverage allowed. Minimum coverage $50,000 Max coverage $350,000 Will offer 50%, 60% or 70% of the RCT Dwelling must be occupied, in good condition and well maintained.

Dwelling can exceed 75 years or older. No RC-90, RC-106 or RC-107 will be allowed. Minimum coverage $25,000.

Some of Heartland’s property inspectors and adjusters are certified drone pilots. Our drones are used primarily for roof inspections. These types of technology have given our adjusters the ability to connect to the main office to review policy information, access our claim management system, complete inspection reports, complete cost estimates, review desktop files and communicate directly to the underwriters via Skype/Slack or .
