We highly encourage you to have you student fill out a FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) even if you don’t think you will qualify for a Cal Grant. Many scholarships and other college programs will require students to have a FAFSA on file and your student can qualify for low interest loans. If you have an emergency or someone loses a job your student will need one on file to get assistance. What we need parents to know is, first, you and your student should sign up for a FSA ID. This is how you electronically sign your FAFSA. Second, students need to have their Social Security number, we do not have it on file. Third, you should attend our FAFSA info night and Cash 4 College night if you need information or assistance with the FAFSA. Students should also be signed up for scholarship searches online and be checking bhsguidance.com for other scholarships we receive for posting.
